literature

Today I had an interesting discussion about literature in my Spanish class; we tried to define it. It was interesting to see how limited it became the more we tried to define it- - it was like trying to hold on to drops of water instead of simply cupping it in your hand.The more we tried to describe it the less it meant. I believe that literature is creative works written to express a part of the human experience and to change some part of this world. Literature is simply a piece of one person's experience- a little piece they choose to share.
